Background

With over 25 years in networking, security, and IT infrastructure, Juan Pablo Soto founded Gateway Networks to solve a problem he witnessed repeatedly: small businesses — especially those in regulated industries like law, healthcare, and finance — trusting their most sensitive client data to cloud platforms designed for scale, not privacy.

Based in the Cleveland, Ohio area and serving businesses across Northeast and Central Ohio, Juan Pablo brings deep hands-on expertise with enterprise-grade security platforms. He has spent over a decade as a specialist in SonicWall network security appliances — designing, deploying, and maintaining perimeter defense for organizations where a breach is not just an IT problem, but a legal and regulatory one.

Juan Pablo has deployed Ubiquiti UniFi wireless infrastructure across commercial facilities throughout the United States and Canada, including large-scale outdoor environments covering up to 10,000 square feet — parking lots, vehicle service facilities, and multi-building campuses where reliable long-range coverage is non-negotiable.

Holding his CCNA and CompTIA Network+ certifications with CCSP training underway, Juan Pablo is now deeply engaged in AI development and machine learning — bringing intelligent monitoring, automated threat detection, and next-generation automation to private infrastructure deployments.

Throughout his career Juan Pablo has worked extensively with Cisco IOS and Cisco Meraki — managing and implementing enterprise routing, switching, and SD-WAN deployments. While that enterprise experience informs every network he designs, his preference has always been open-source: transparent, auditable, vendor-independent infrastructure that no company can lock you out of.

Gateway Networks also operates internationally. Juan Pablo is actively working with a partner company serving the Valdivia and Puerto Montt regions of Chile, extending private cloud and network security services to businesses in South America — bringing the same privacy-first, open-source approach to clients wherever they operate.

Gateway Networks is the culmination of two and a half decades of field experience: a single-provider, full-stack private cloud and security practice built specifically for small businesses that handle sensitive information and cannot afford to compromise on privacy.
